Character Creation, Part I: Personality
What sort of character would you like to play for this campaign?
The basic premise of our game will have your character heading to Strixhaven University with the ultimate goal of joining Theros's fleet of exploration ships. To work within that story, your character should lean towards "good" or favor being "lawful" over being "chaotic".

Okay, that whole list is contentious and understates how dynamic some characters are, so maybe that's not a great example. The important part is that you eschew that "chaotic evil" corner of the 3x3 chart. Otherwise your character is likely to end up marooned somewhere.
Some books recommend thinking of your character in terms of Ideals, Bonds, and Flaws. Ideals generally represent things a character believes in like freedom, strength, kindness, etc. Bonds are the things that connect them to the rest of the world they interact with - their deity, old friends, beloved family members, or even that one rival that his driven them to excellence. Flaws are character weaknesses severe enough that they could cause a hero to fail - things like gullibility, cowardice, or impatience.
